Mandala
Mandala is a 5 track EP featuring material originally written 2012-15 for the band Interiors (2012-15) but which never received the full studio treatment. These versions were recorded with Steve Sears Jr. at Titan Studios in Watford over the course of four days. It was our first time working with Hugo Terva on drums and he recorded all 5 tracks in an afternoon.
The EP is a prologue to the kinds of themes which would be more fully explored on In Rooms - anxiety, self-doubt and those whose mental health hangs by a fine thread. The songs can switch in a moment from quiet, serene passages to nightmarish cries and walls of noise. It can perhaps be best summed up by what Ingmar Bergman called the ‘Hour of the Wolf.’
